About Cynthia Miguel

Nace en Argentina en 1973. En su temprana infancia vive en Asuncion y en Londres, para luego instalarse definitivamente en Buenos Aires. Se forma en dibujo y arte ceramico en el Taller de Escultura de su madre. Estudia Arte y Derecho. En 1997, se muda por estudios a Washington DC. A su regreso a Buenos Aires, continua sus estudios de dibujo y pintura en el Taller de Nestor Cruz. Posteriormente, hace Clinica de Arte con Rebeca de Mendoza. Participo en muestras colectivas en New York y Washington DC. Ha desarrollado trabajos en tinta, acuarela, oleo y acrílico sobre papel, tela y madera. Asimismo, ha utilizado tecnicas mixtas, trabajando con yeso y materiales industriales. En sus ultimas obras sobre madera, ha incorporado pigmentos y herramientas de calado propias del arte ceramico. Su obra es parte de colecciones privadas en Estados Unidos, Italia y Argentina.

◆ Born in Argentina in 1973, she spent the first years of her childhood living in Asunción and London, util her family finally settled in Buenos Aires. She was exposed to and learned Drawing and Ceramic Art at her mother’s Atelier while growing up. She pursued higher education in Art and Law. In 1997, she moved to Washington DC to obtain a Master’s in Law. Back in Buenos Aires, she continued her studies of Drawing and Painting at the Atelier of Nestor Cruz. Later, she engaged in Art Clinic with Rebeca de Mendoza. She hast participated in exhibitios in New York, Washington DC, Buenos Aires and Punta del Este. She has mainly created artworks employing tint, watercolors, oil and acrylic painting on paper, canvas and wood. She has also worked extensively with mixed media, using plasted and industrial materials. With her most recent painting on wood, she has introduced pigments and carving tools commonly usen in Ceramic Art. Her work is part of private collections in the United States, Italy, Uruguay and Argentina.
